Does your dog run the other way when you
call?  Have your treats ready!   ( and these
can be cut up hot dogs) Call your pup in a
bright cheerful voice and turn your back to
your dog and run towards the house.  Your
dog is sure to follow. Once he gets to you
praise him and immediately give him the
treat.  Repeat this until he has the hang of it.  
You can slowly wean him off the treats onto
just praise and attention.  No matter how
angry he makes you,  you cannot scold him if
he comes when you call as he will not
understand that you are scolding him for not
coming. He will associate coming to you with
punishment.
